Hola

Humans appear to be the only animals who actively seek fullfillment throughout their lives. Perhaps it is our consciousness or self-awareness behind the quest, but this desire for fulfillment is what drives humans to construct cities, build empires, create music, and produce art.
Some say it's a "calling," others fill a "niche," but whatever name you give it, you do it to because it brings fulfillment.
I call it filling a vacancy.
Everyone fills his or her "vacancy" somehow, and the nature of an individual's (or a collective) "vacancy" allows for a rich assortment of expression: The Pyramids of Giza, Beethoven's Symphony No. 9, taming The Wild West, Napoleon Bonaparte's conquest; or small displays of fulfillment: volunteering, donating, or
a dark chocolate indulgence.
Some vacancies are filled with destructive behaviors, such as murder and drug use.The vacancies behind these acts--as well as the act itself--can be frightening.
My "vacancy" is the need to connect with other humans on an unspoken level; it's a desire to communicate a shared emotion. This is how I fill "the vacancy": I design, produce minor art, and write.
